That's right, it's a moderate, gradual upward incline for the equivalent of about one city block or less, not a big hill. I don't know exactly where you took a taxi from, but what I think of as the center of Millburn (near the train station) is probably less than three minutes from Paper Mill by taxi, so I'm surprised you could even get a taxi to take you there.
