Saw it and left during intermission. Not only did it stink but so did the theatre. As for the "superfluous tapping," I thought a tap dance number in this show made as much sense as having one in 1776 or Man of La Mancha. But then again, it was the only thing I enjoyed about this show. I did listen to the album on Spotify and thought the music was good and the show's band is really good. But then again, there's no excuse not to have first rate musicians in a New York.
