Is this a completely new song?

"Although audiences won't hear this new tune, director Rob Marshall had nothing but praise for Streep's vocal abilities. 'I don't think people will be remotely ready to hear her sing this material.… The power from her is off the charts,' Marshall said." Well, the first part of that quote could have been better phrased! At any rate: Is "Rainbows" really a new song written especially for Meryl Streep? According to a Playbill article published September 24, about the cast recording of the Keen Company's 2012 production of MARRY ME A LITTLE, "This updated production...featured several new songs, including 'Rainbows,' a duet penned for the Baker and his Wife in a previous film treatment of Into the Woods. It replaced 'Two Fairytales.'" So, is the song that has been cut from the upcoming film a completely or partly new song titled "Rainbows," or is it basically a solo version of the duet, now sung by the witch instead of the Baker and his Wife? I guess we'll find out if it's included as a bonus for home video.
