FWIW, it used to be more difficult and took significantly more time to get back to the city from Paper Mill because, after a certain hour on weekends, the New Jersey trains (for some reason) didn't go all the way back to Penn Station, so you had to switch to the PATH at Hoboken. And, of course, you sometimes had to wait for the PATH. Now, at least, the NJT trains go all the way to NYP.
