And I'm starting to rethink going to Can Can. (I do want to see Jason Danieley, plus I would like to see this in process to be an educated theatergoer. However, I have responsibilities here in the city-I can't sit around in the middle of Jersey for an hour waiting for a train.)

I don't care to pay almost Broadway prices plus the cost of transportation to go. I have responsibilities here in the city-I can't sit around in the middle of Jersey for an hour waiting for a train.

Fair enough, though of course, these are the same considerations -- the added cost of transportation, the inconvenience of train timetables, etc. -- that many people planning on coming from the 'burbs to a Broadway show must take into account, too.

That's their choice.

I pay more for rent to get easy access to the arts scene here (and I don't just do Broadway-I see a variety of events).

Maybe I'll just cut my losses on this one.

The fact that the Papermill Playhouse/New Jersey Transit won't make things easier for you in light of all that you suffer is indeed an outrage.

You're obviously free to make your own choice, but in my opinion, anyone who avoids seeing shows as Paper Mill because of the travel time and expense is missing some great opportunities.

P.S. Full-price tickets at Paper Mill range from $107 down to $36, and there are a fair number of seats priced at $76 and under. So even if you factor in travel expenses -- I think a round-trip train ticket from Penn Station is around $18? -- you can still attend and see the show from a decent seat for considerably less than the price of a Broadway show.

Yeah, I think that anyone who is so important that she can't be outside of Manhattan for half of one day (at the most) should probably not risk it.

It's not worth it. It's transferring anyway. I work in Brooklyn on weekends (way out too) so please keep your judgment to yourself. Maybe I have-gasp-responsibilities at HOME?

When you say "it's transferring anyway," are you saying you know for a fact that CAN CAN is definitely transferring to Broadway? I really didn't know this was anything more than a possibility IF everything goes well AND the money can be raised.
