"Marvelously choreographed"? Unless there have been major changes in the last couple of weeks, I thought the choreography was distracting and much of it superfluous. I liked Mia Michaels' work on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE and certainly think she's up to the task for this show but far too much of what she's been asked to do here seem to distract from the core of the story. The one moment where I wanted danced magic (the flying sequence) is where I felt Michaels was uninspired and her work a bit unfocused.

That said, her playful work in the early acting company and dinner party scenes were fun enough but, then again, I felt those scenes were too long and mostly unnecessary musical comedy schtick.

I still have hope that her work will come together as the work evolves but I truly hope Paulus and Michaels see the show as less schtick and more heart.
