re obstructed view seats

Cannot speak for all such locations, but I sat in "obstructed view" Left Box, Seat 9, and found there was only one scene, for me, that had an obstruction. (When Rudi and the two eunuchs sing from a catwalk type elevation.)

While I wasn't fond of the show in general, Chita's stage presence and performance alone made me glad I had changed my travel plans to include a stopover in Williamstown. I could see/hear her beautifully from my seat.

Thanks for the clarification--I just bought Left Box Seat 7 (a little less extreme)--now I need to hit the road for Massachussetts for tonight's performance!

You will have a gorgeous view of much of the show, including the pas de deux, which for me, is the most memorable aspect (even though I would have preferred it placed earlier in the piece).

Hope you enjoy.

I did indeed (ended up in a last-minute switch to an orchestra seat, but the box would have been just fine). And I agree with you about the memorableness of the pas de deux--for me, it came at the right moment to amp up my emotional response.

Worked out well for you.
Excellent.
Very much appreciated your thoughtful, and scholarly take (I say that as a compliment) in a thread above.
You gave me something to think about. Had wanted/expected for myself the experience at the show you describe as having.
Sincere thanks for your insight.

Next time in a longer(!) trip to the Berkshires, you may want to consider also heading north to Dorset (VT) Theater Festival for a performance. The venue is country charming, and hospitable. And I've found 2 of 2 productions seen there to be highly professional in caliber.
