Tony Yazbeck: A leading man on tap

I've seen Tony Yazbeck in ''A Chorus Line,'' ''Gypsy,'' ''White Christmas,'' and ''Chicago,'' and I think he'll be great as Gabey in ''On the Town.'' If they were still making MGM musicals, Tony strikes me as a modern-day Gene Kelly. He can play working-class, but also can look classy in a tux. (Yazbeck's got one more cabaret show this Tuesday at 54 Below.)

Tony did our ''Leading Men IV'' benefit for Broadway Cares and got it off to a rousing start by belting ''Marry Me a Little.''

Link ''On the Town'' paints the town in ''New York, New York''

I agree. I saw him play Bobby in Crazy For You at Maine State Music Theatre in 2009 opposite his then-fiancé (and A Chorus Line co-star) Jessica Lee Goldyn.

He was quite charismatic and was really wonderful in the show.
