I didn't have the energy to post thoughts on my visit to Stratford earlier this summer but I had a wonderful time.

I loved the production of Crazy for You. A wonderful cast, wonderful choreography, it was much more exciting than the Broadway production choreographed by Stroman.

Man of La Mancha was a more traditional rendering but it was mostly beautifully sung and Tom Rooney was just right. He's the best Cervantes/Quixote I've seen since Richard Kiley.

They recorded Crazy for You but I wish they had done the same for La Mancha.

I also saw Lear and thought Colm Feore was excellent. Hay Fever was less ideal--it seemed very long though I was still pleased to see a production of it. The end is similar to Private Lives.
