Posted by: Richard Connema 05:12 am EDT 08/20/14

The full house was on their feet at the end of this musical tonight. Barry Gordy was in the audience and he was up on stage at the end of rocking musical. Review coming up on this also

We were there tonight (Thurs). As you describe - the house was alive. Had a great time with great performances of songs of my life. (Let's just not talk about the book, and what it might have been).

In any event - seeing reaction to tonight's surprising news of the Broadway closing and (potential) re-opening, I don't think the hiatus per-se will affect the appeal should it return, The songs tap right into the heart of the baby boom. Even if the show sucks, the songs sell.
