We were there tonight (Thurs). As you describe - the house was alive. Had a great time with great performances of songs of my life. (Let's just not talk about the book, and what it might have been).

In any event - seeing reaction to tonight's surprising news of the Broadway closing and (potential) re-opening, I don't think the hiatus per-se will affect the appeal should it return, The songs tap right into the heart of the baby boom. Even if the show sucks, the songs sell.
