What's interesting is that in Fun Home, Sydney Lucas played all eight performances and she (or whoever is playing that role for the Broadway run-but I'm fairly sure she'll be the original since they didn't post an audition notice for that part) will not have an alternate, meaning she's going to go on all eight performances. In The Secret Garden, Daisy Egan started at all eight performances but did drop to six I believe (it may have actually been 7). I just find how we do it with one alternate or none a rather interesting contrast.
