Thoughts on off-Bway Assassins and a question

I also got in via the cancellation line in the bitter cold. Toward the end of the show I thought we had gone through them all and then the turntable showed Oswald. I gasped. The Victor Garber monologue is beautifully preserved on the cast album. I was mesmerized but immediately understood there was no way it would transfer. Sondheim cannibals yes, assassins no. And Garber in both. Sublime.

Question: Sondheim could famously mimic any musical genre. I think "Unworthy of Your Love" is the closest he's come to writing a pop song. Agree?

Thank you.
