Let's move back a step. Joan Rivers may have had a residence in New York, but her primary residence during the last years of her marriage was on the west coast. I have watched some on the covage, and it's been clearly stated that part of the dispute between Rivers and her daughter was Rivers' wish to sell the LA house. Whatever the truth, talk shows from the west coast seldom feature Broadway current Broadway proformers (only because LA is 3,000 miles away).
