Public relations are never in the category of "nothing better to do." Many people are upset about this and journalists are calling attention to the online petition and number of tweets. Indeed the League may hope this all blows over but it seems to me that another statement at the very least is going to be needed, one with a good deal more thought. They are indeed private property owners (although they too rely often on the largess of the city.) but as business people, good public relations are vital to conducting their business. That is why they have press releases, statements and interviews over various matters.
