I never, ever said that. In fact, I said that if it were my decision, I would dim the lights. That is not what this is about AT ALL. This is about forcing someone to backtrack on their own decision because people are too fucking lazy to make their own gesture. That is ALL I have objected to-the hijacking of someone else's gesture, and replacing it with the meaningless forced gesture we will have tonight. What is your next cause? Why don't you have a campaign the day after next year's Tony ceremony to grant statues to the shows you think should have won instead of the ones that did win. It's no different than what's being done here. Rendering something meaningful into something meaningless.
