Wow - that's luxury casting, especially in a role which requires almost no singing (save the first refrain of "Tender Shepherd"). I'm not complaining, but I think it's a little odd somehow...;-)

An *understudy* in "The Sound of Music Live" earned around $60,000 total--and they weren't even seen on television. I can't even imagine what the ensemble or supporting actors must have been paid. It's no wonder that A-list Broadway stars (who are not well known outside of theater) flock to the supporting roles in these TV productions. They won't find better paying jobs anywhere else!

Agree but isn't luxury casting becoming the thing for these TV productions--for supporting roles--while casting the starring parts with questionable talent?
