CSC---non-subscription sales

Posted by: nylifer 09:31 pm EDT 09/09/14

This was asked earlier but not yet answered:
Does CSC hold onto seats for general sales if its subscriptions are sold out? Likely to be little left, no?
More than a few people must be wondering re: Allegro. Thanks.

Unless something has changed, it should not be a problem

I've gotten good seats to high-profile productions at CSC (most recently, Passion and Ivanov) even after previews started.

Well, good seats in terms of having a good view of the stage. Unfortunately, most of the seats there have appallingly little leg room, but I have learned where to sit so that I'm not in pain. I was in agony at Ivanov, but fine at Passion because I intentionally got a seat that didn't have another seat in front of it.

(That should not be taken as a comment on the quality of the shows. I liked Ivanov despite the physical pain I endured, but I couldn't stand Passion even though I was physically comfortable.)

I'm an on again, off again subscriber to CSC (I rotate among several off bway companies), and they do hold onto a good amount tickets for general sales. My experience with them and most off-bway theaters is that the subscribers tend to fill up the first weeks of previews, then after that there usually good availability if you buy when single tickets first go on sale.

also, it is SOP for these theatre to extend, at least for a week, without regard to any extrinsic justification.
