I really love KeKe Palmer, and certainly wish her well- I find her lovely to look at, enjoy her voice and have always liked her on screen. But I don't get why this is news at all. As someone below pointed out, she's only the third person to play Cinderella on Broadway at all- and it's not like someone black has never played Cinderella before, Brandi did- in the same incarnation (the R&H Cinderella I mean). KeKe Palmer is good casting for Cinderella no matter what, she's got a great voice, she's lovely and she's a "name" star that will bring people to see the show. I don't even get why they felt the need to shift the entire casting of the show around her- why couldn't black actors have been playing some of the other parts before? NOW they're putting them in, around KeKe Palmer? I don't know, this whole thing is weird to me.
