Your intentions are honorable, but strictly speaking, you're not supposed to donate, sell, or otherwise dispose of CDs that you have digitized to a hard disk.

You are more that able to put the songs on a hard disk and play them. You can put them on multiple hard disks. You can burn them to a custom CD that you play in your car, office, or anywhere else.

But you are supposed to hang onto the original CDs to prove you own those songs.

And while I'm sure none of the charities you're going to donate to will fuss, they are not supposed to accept donations of material that the original owner is still using.
