I'll try to answer a bit later. Can't wrap my mind around it right now. I will say that I might remember it as perfect if I'd seen it at the Shubert. Len Cariou has spoken about how much better he felt it played at the Shubert. And Gingold always just seemed to be falling asleep at the end.
