| WOW She left 150 million to her daughter and grandson and to take care of her dogs. I am sure there is money to charities. It is a week since she left us. there are more pictures in Playbill On line | |

| If we're going to get pedantic (and why not?): Joan Rivers's will. | |

| Although I guess there's some disagreement on that front... depends what style guide you follow, I suppose. | |

| I prefer Rivers's, but, yeah, AP (for one) does not. On the other hand, Words Into Type, The Chicago Manual of Style, Bryan Garner, Fowler's and the New York Times would all go with Rivers's, as would The Elements of Style. | |

| Considering how poorly used and understood apostrophes are, this choice is the least of our problems. You're apt to get River's instead. I agree with Justice Souter AND the Times. How often can you say that?? | |

| I'm sure Melissa would rather have her mother alive than the money. You can tell how crazy they were about each other. | |

| Yes, of course Melissa would rather have her mother alive. Still, after her incredible personal, career and financial difficulties, I would imagine Joan would have been very happy to have left her daughter and grandson a fortune. As for Melissa, I have to imagine she was doing very well already. She produces Fashion Police which is a big fat hit for E! and has become a massive international franchise with different versions in other countries. | |

| I guess the dimming of the lights is more impressive and inspiring seeing it live rather than in photos. And when it is actually dark outside. | |

| She worked 80 hours a week to climb out of bankruptcy and never looked back. Good for you, Joan. | |

| When her husband, Edgar, died didn't he leave everything to Melissa and nothing to Joan? If so, Joan really earned her money by working her ass off. Good for you, Joan Rivers! | |

| I seem to remember that there wasn't much money left at that point, due to Edgar's mismanagement. But, either way, kudos to Rivers for coming back from what has to have been the darkest professional/personal point in her life. | |
