I'm sure Melissa would rather have her mother alive than the money. You can tell how crazy they were about each other.

Yes, of course Melissa would rather have her mother alive. Still, after her incredible personal, career and financial difficulties, I would imagine Joan would have been very happy to have left her daughter and grandson a fortune. As for Melissa, I have to imagine she was doing very well already. She produces Fashion Police which is a big fat hit for E! and has become a massive international franchise with different versions in other countries.
