I haven't seen this production, but I did read the script earlier in the year. I don't remember exact details, but basically a pregnant teenager enlists her best friend's help after taking pills to induce labor of the fetus.

On the page, it's quite intense, and I can only imagine more so on the stage.

I wouldn't quite go so far as to say "Dry Land" is brilliant, but it is a very compelling, impressive work, and I look forward to seeing what Spiegel does in the future, once she's had some more life experience.
