Snakes in YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU

Posted by: peggylopa 08:02 pm EDT 09/13/14

Wondering how the snakes are presented in the play. My friend is a bit phobic, and wants to know if it's minimalist or a lot.
Little snakes, or big snakes . . .
Thanks in advance or any info.

real or not i couldn't see them and i had excellent seats. unless just having them mentioned and knowing they are there will be a problem i'd say have him/her go. you see the cages but not them. at least i didn't. you do see the kittens. they're adorable.

There are the cats and snakes here, and the peguins, octopus, and cockroaches in THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER. Those fellows were real animal lovers!

I admit it, the first thing that came to my mind when I saw your post was SNAKES IN A PLAY, probably not starring Samuel L. Jackson.

Phobic that...what's going to happen? That, if they're real, they're going to slither off the stage and up the aisle and attack your friend?

as noted below, phobias aren't really based on rational fears.

This happens to be an extreme phobia for, so I wouldn't even buy tickets to "YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU". thanks for the heads up, ATC!

Phobias aren't based on rational fears. That's what makes them phobias.

They're in a glass tank, and positioned pretty far back on the stage. I wasn't even aware they were real! Are they real?

I saw an interview where Scott Ellis spoke about the kittens, and also mentioned live snakes.
