| Mia Farrow is giving an extraordinary performance, and if you ever doubted her abilities as an actor, get over to the Brooks Atkinson immediately. Wow. What she did just by sitting there, reading the script and building a character is amazing. Brian Dennehy is also extremely good. They are well-matched, and complement each other. Standard bare-bones production. 90 minutes no intermission. | |

| Last night I saw the other AR Gurney play on in NYC at moment, The Wayside Motor Inn. It's a very good production of a very slight play I thought. Whilst it has a great idea of having overlapping stories in identikit rooms it doesn't do much with the conceit. The cast were fantastic though. | |

| I agree. A terrific production of a play with interesting conceptual and thematic ideas. Unfortunately, several of the story threads strained credibility or reached too obvious a destination. | |

| Agree! Five dreary playlets. The conceit's the thing here and the performances are quite good. | |

| Completely agree. I've always enjoyed Farrow's film performances, but I wasn't at all expecting what she accomplished here — just stunning. Tears in my eyes — WTH? She has a fragility that I'm not sure the other actresses lined up can match. (In addition to a uniquely off-kilter comic timing.) And all this while sitting stock still at a table. Remarkable. Someone please give this luminous actress more stage work! | |

| can anyone out there recall her work in Romantic Comedy (Bernard Slade, with Tony Perkins, did it try-out in Boston?) what else has she been in onstage? was she considered for the newlywed opp Redford in Bway Barefoot or even the film? | |

| www.filmreference.com is often the best place for that info | |

| Linking the page with Farrow's stage credits. Often the info there is at least somewhat incomplete — for example, Fran's Bed is not on the linked page — and sometimes people whom you would expect to be there have no page at all (e.g., Eileen Herlie). But they collect info on Broadway, London, Off-Broadway, Off-Off, regional and so on. It's surprising that a site called filmreference.com can be the best place to get info on an actor's stage credits, but it often is. | |

| She was in James Lapine's FRAN'S BED at Playerights Horizons in 2005 (after doing it at Long Wharf in 2003), and did THE EXONERATED at some point. | |

| She was in the one-night only presentation of Albee's VIRGINIA WOOLF when Uta Hagen recreated her Martha, 1999 I believe. Farrow was superb, easily holding her own with Hagen and Jonathan Pryce as George. Her only problem--considerable--was playing opposite miscast, seemingly embarrassed and quite awful Matthew Broderick. | |

| I am so glad you brought up her timing. It's flawless. It is a testament to Greg Mosher how seamlessly this production runs. I've seen stagings of this particular play that were so ragged. Even at the second preview, Dennehy and Farrow are so attuned to each other. | |

| This may be a difficult question to answer, but are they sitting at desks that might block their faces from very close seats? I think I'm in the second or third row. | |

| Not at all. The stage is very low, and even if you were sitting in the front you, you'd have a totally unrestricted view. | |
