Highlights include intimate evenings with Tony® Award-winning artists Billy Porter, Rosemary Harris, John Rando, set designer Beowulf Boritt, Academy® Award-winning director Bill Condon, plus Broadway veteran and “American Idol” finalist Constantine Maroulis (Jekyll & Hyde, Rock of Ages), in addition to Drama League DirectorFest 2014, the annual short play festival highlighting directorial works from the of the country’s most exciting emerging directors.

There will be master classes and workshops for directors, producers, designers, playwrights and performers offered in a variety of skills. These include Tony® Award-nominated designer Michael Krass (Machinal) who will teach the art of collaboration, while Lucille Lortel Award-nominated director Moritz von Stuelpnagel (Hand to God) will bring his work at Studio 42 to the Drama League, offering practical strategies for producing the “unproducible” play.

The Drama League also offers special performances on Broadway and Off-Broadway, as well as open rehearsals, artist residencies, play readings, intimate gatherings with legendary stars and industry titans, day trips to world-class theatres, excursions to London’s West End, and more.

“It’s rare when the great artists of our time – like the legendary Rosemary Harris, or the multi-talented Billy Porter – are able to share an intimate, communal conversation about this art form we hold so dear,” said Executive Director Gabriel Shanks. “We strictly limit our events to a maximum of sixty people, because we are interested having these events being a real moment in space, time, and above all, a relaxed conversation.”
