Godspell at Plymouth Plantation..many years ago

Posted by: crewbway 04:39 pm EDT 09/15/14

Listening nowto UMASS/Dartmouth's radio station (they play showtunes on Monday afternoons). By my Side from Godspell is on...reminded me of a PBS show probably when Godspell was originally playing in Boston a few decades back (don't want to date myself) and cast went to Plymouth Plantation performing numbers from the show. Anyone have any other recollections of this? It was long time ago!

I think it's high time for "Godspell On Baltimore's The Block" narrated by John Waters.

Thanks so much....I remember the production was at the Wilbur and the cast went to Plymouth to tape this...so we're talking about 40 years ago. No one at WGBH remembered it.

The cast is in fine voice, and it's fun to watch and wonder: Which group found it more strange: The Plimouth Plantation (sic) group, wondering who these oh-so-earnest hippies are on their farm, or the Boston tour cast, interacting with these re-enactors, that never (ever) broke Pilgrim character!

Don't be so Stand-off-ish, Miles!

Thank you for leading me to find it.
