La Jolla Playouse . . . Outstanding Patron Services!

Posted by: PatrickHSF 03:41 pm EDT 09/25/14

Can I just say La Jolla Playhouse has exceptional patron services! In a posting about Hunchback I made on their Facebook page, I casually mentioned my concern about row A perhaps being too close and obstructed by the stage. Didn’t really expect any response. Well . . . yesterday I get a call from patron services. They had seen my post, and tracked me down by my online order (ok, a little scary, but I do prospect research in my fundraising work so I know a lot of ways to track people down, too!).

They wanted to chat about my concern, saying that yes, row A might be a bit below stage level (the stage build out and blocking are not finalized yet so it’s unclear how the view will be). They offered me Row G, suggesting this will be more of a guarantee of a good view. BillEadie, you also suggested F and G in this house. They made the change without any argument or hassle. Maybe others often have had wonderful experiences like this with theaters but this was a first for me. I love calling out exceptional customer service when it is received. La Jolla Playhouse definitely is top-notch. Curtain up!

***LIGHT SPOILER***
I also mentioned I hope this American version parallels the German production that closely follows the Hugo novel and not the Disney animated feature, particularly with the ending. Without giving anything away, she said I would be pleased. :)

Lots of good and helpful folks work for La Jolla Playhouse, in my experience. And, I'm sure you'll be glad to know that HUNCHBACK has extended its run through December 14, according to a press release I just received. That means that a week of as yet unsold tickets will go on sale to Playhouse subscribers on October 19 and to the public on October 26.

I've linked the Playhouse website below.
