Will be in LA this Friday for one night. Can you guys make a recommendation about what to see? Thanks!

If you haven't seen Cicely Tyson in "Trip to Bountiful," I would suggest that. "Choir Boy" is quite good at the Geffen. And something different would be "For the Record: Baz Luhrmann" which is a production using dialogue and music from the director's films to create a unique show. Kind of like a "living soundtrack." That's at DBA in West Hollywood.

I was concerned about seeing Bountiful in such a large space. Is it not a problem? Also, how is the Jordan Harrison on play at the Taper?

It isn't awful at the Ahmanson, but you would want to be in the orchestra section. I wasn't a fan of Marjorie Prime, but the LA Times liked it. It's always nice to see Lois Smith on stage. It is about 90 minutes w/o an intermission.
