42ND STREET MOON PRESENTS “SOMETHING FOR THE BOYS”Directed by: Daniel Witzke Music and Lyrics: Cole Porter Book: Dorothy and Herbert Fields AT THE EUREKA THEATRE, SAN FRANCISCO November 26 – December 14, 2014

) – 42nd Street Moon presents a 20th Anniversary revisit of one of its earliest hits – the delightful farce, SOMETHING FOR THE BOYS. In this fun-filled musical comedy, with music and lyrics by Cole Porter and book by Dorothy and Herbert Fields, a mismatched trio of cousins inherits a San Antonio Ranch and turns it into a boarding house for soldiers’ wives. Romantic and military complications quickly arise. The top-shelf Porter songs include “The Leader of a Big-Time Band,” “Something for the Boys,” “Could It Be You?,” “Hey, Good Lookin',” “By the Mississinewah,” and “He's a Right Guy.” SOMETHING FOR THE BOYS will be directed by Daniel Witzke, with music direction by Dave Dobrusky and choreography by Staci Arriaga. The show plays November 26-December 14 at The Eureka Theatre, 215 Jackson Street, San Francisco. For tickets ($25-$75) call (415) 255-8207 or visit 42ndStMoon.org.

This effervescent Cole Porter romp follows Blossom Hart, a wartime machinist (who, after an accident with carborundum, begins to intercept radio communications through her tooth fillings) and her cousins: Harry, a fast-talking carnival pitchman, and Chiquita, a burlesque entertainer. The three discover that the sprawling Texas mansion they’ve inherited is not quite the idyllic manor they thought, and decide the crumbling estate should be converted into a boarding house for the wives of soldiers at the nearby military base. Exuberant and inspired, the madcap musical storyline adds in a senator’s snooty daughter who tries to sabotage the cousins’ plans, with hilarious results.

The 42nd Street Moon production of SOMETHING FOR THE BOYS features Heather Orth (Blossom Hart), Dyan McBride (Chiquita Hart), Brian Herndon (Harry Hart), Tyler McKenna (Rocky Fulton), Nikita Burshteyn (Calhoun), Eliza Leoni (Roxanne Banner), AeJay Mitchell (Tobias Twitch), Andrew Perez (Laddie Green), Samuel Rabinowitz (Corporal Burns), Abby Sammons (Kitty Banner), Victoria Stewart Davis (Lorraine Banner), and Stephen Vaught (Colonel Grubbs).
