Was just there last Saturday for Laura Benanti where someone in the line as we waited to be seated also asked about tipping. I've never tipped or have seen people tip. Everyone who works at Feinstein's works for the hotel, so I don't think they would turn you down if you did tip. The room is small and I don't think there is a bad spot in the room, and yes it can be loud. I recommend getting there within the first 30 minutes of when the doors open so you can get a good up-front seat. I also like their menu and it helps with the $20 minimum per person.
