| Bergdorf Goodman Presents 2014 Holiday Window Unveiling Event Alongside Annual UNICEF Snowflake Lighting ** With Tony Award winner Nikki M. James & Broadway Care Kids ** Featuring a "Theater" themed window on 5th Avenue On Monday, November 17 at 6:00PM ET, Fifth Avenue luxury retailer Bergdorf Goodman will hold the most anticipated holiday window unveiling of the season. With even more fashion, fantasy and fun than last year, this year’s program includes a special performance by Tony-Award winning actress Nikki M. James (“Les Miserables,” “Book of Mormon”) and the lighting of the iconic UNICEF Snowflake at Fifth Avenue and 57th Street. Actor, UNICEF Ambassador and U.S. Fund for UNICEF National Board Member Téa Leoni will light the snowflake during a special ceremony hosted by U.S. Fund for UNICEF President and CEO Caryl Stern, Bergdorf Goodman President Joshua Schulman and Bergdorf Goodman Senior Vice President Linda Fargo outside of the Bergdorf Goodman storefront. Broadway Kids Care (featuring Rachel Khutorsky, Athena Ripka, Lance Chantilles-Wertz, Luka Kain & Graham Montgomery) will perform their renditions of holiday favorites during the event. Festivities will continue throughout the store, with 10 percent of proceeds from 6:00-8:00PM ET – including sales of Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, the only DVD/Blu-ray to be carried in Bergdorf Goodman and select Neiman Marcus stores this holiday season – benefitting the U.S. Fund for UNICEF. Bergdorf Goodman’s theme this holiday season is “Inspired.” The store’s Fifth Avenue window displays will embark on a visual manifestation of this idea. Each window will be based on a different art form, drawn from the performing arts, applied arts, and fine arts. On Fifth Avenue, the individual windows will celebrate Theater, Literature, Architecture, Painting and Music. The theme continues on the store’s 58th Street façade, where Dance, Sculpture, and Film will be represented. Each window will have its own atmosphere and distinct choice of materials – a world unto its own. Bergdorf Goodman’s team of display artists, helmed once again by Senior Director of Visual Presentation David Hoey, spent 11 months planning and producing this spectacle. Bergdorf Goodman’s holiday windows will be on view through January 4, 2015. In the theater-themed window, a performer makes a dramatic entrance beneath a mid-century marquee. Light bulbs flash. Neon pulses rhythmically. The inclusion of a golden beaded gown by Julien MacDonald will demonstrate that there’s no business like show business. The UNICEF Snowflake illuminates the intersection of Fifth Avenue and 57th Street each year and serves as a beacon of hope and compassion for vulnerable children around the world. It hangs as a reminder of UNICEF’s commitment to reach a day when zero children die from preventable causes and every child has a safe and healthy childhood. Designed by Ingo Maurer with 16,000 Baccarat crystals, this beautiful ornament was dedicated to UNICEF in 2002 by the Stonbely Family Foundation. In her unique role as both a UNICEF Ambassador and National Board Member, Téa Leoni has been heavily involved in most aspects of UNICEF. Téa represents the third generation of her family working to help the children of the world. Paramount Home Media Distribution has announced the Diamond Anniversary Edition of the treasured musical classic Irving Berlin’s White Christmas will carried at Bergdorf Goodman and select Neiman Marcus stores this holiday season. In honor of the 60th anniversaries of White Christmas and actor Danny Kaye’s appointment as UNICEF’s first Goodwill Ambassador, The Danny Kaye and Sylvia Fine Kaye Foundation and Paramount Pictures are proud to make a combined $100,000 donation to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF to support UNICEF’s lifesaving work for children around the world.
