"Plus, I HATE over amplified shows. So the Doyle productions are a relief to me to hear a mix of sound without reaching for earplugs."

I don't know about Allegro but I felt that the Doyle productions of Sweeney and Company on Broadway were very loud and overamplified. Not ear-splitting as some musicals are, but still very loud. Too loud and not at all natural-sounding.

Passion at CSC was not so loud, but there were separate musicians for that one. Good to hear that Allegro is not heavily amplified.
