| “THE AMAZING MAX” STARRING MAX DARWIN RETURNS TO NEW YORK FOR A MAGICAL HOLIDAY ENGAGEMENT DIRECTED BY TWO DIRECTIONS (WEST HYLER & SHELLEY BUTLER) MANHATTAN MOVEMENT AND ARTS CENTER (MMAC) NOVEMBER 28 – DECEMBER 31, 2014 25 PERFORMANCES ONLY! After playing sold out shows across the country, The Amazing Max, the “awesome and hilarious live magic show for the whole family” (PBS Kids) starring magician Max Darwin (aka “The Amazing Max”) returns to delight New York audiences in a month-long holiday engagement at the Manhattan Movement and Arts Center - MMAC (248 West 60th Street – between Amsterdam and West End Avenues). Performances begin on Friday, November 28 and continue through Wednesday, December 31. The Amazing Max is a magic show with a mind of its own. Magician Max Darwin makes objects appear out of thin air, defies the laws of physics, and performs miracles inches from spectators’ faces. The props onstage seem intent on surprising even the magician himself. This out-of-control show bursts with striking visual magic, comedy, and loads of audience participation. The Amazing Max selects all of his assistants at random from the audience, and each adds a unique element to the show. “His ability to astound is something to see.” (The Huffington Post). The creative team for The Amazing Max is: Two Directions (West Hyler & Shelley Butler) (Directors), Lauren Helpern (Set), Mike Grabowski (Lighting) and Sam Kusnetz (Sound). Becca Bernard will assist The Amazing Max. “We are thrilled to bring the show back to New York during the holiday season,” says producer Christine Cox. “We have assembled a new team of players and changed things up a bit by adding new elements to the show. Max is looking forward to sharing his unique magic and seeing the looks of astonishment – and amazement - on the faces in the audience.” Tickets are $64.50 (Premium) and $29.50 - $49.50 (Orchestra). Premium ticket holders receive access to the VIP “Magic Lounge” (which opens 25 minutes before the start of each show) and children receive Amazing Max memorabilia, participate in a magic lesson, and take home a magic trick! Additionally, Premium tickets include priority front row seating on the “Magic Carpet.” They can be purchased online at www.theamazingmax.com or by calling 866-811-4111 or 212-352-3101.
