No one's been chastising you, dramedy, or at least I haven't--just trying to explain the distinction between a limited engagement, which can "extend" beyond its publicly announced closing date, and an open-ended run, which can't properly "extend" when it has never announced a closing date to begin with. (Instead, an open-ended run just keeps on running.) The distinction isn't between "extending" and "new block of tickets"; it's between "extending" and "still running" It's Only A Play was originally announced as a limited engagement with a Jan. 4 closing date. It has now extended once, but it's still announced as a limited engagement, to close Mar. 29. They may extend again, and I hope they will, but there are any number of reasons why they may not extend again, and if they decide not to there won't be much time for Lane to get back into it after The Iceman Cometh closes Mar. 15.
