An actor is contractually obligated to give a performance; he/she is NOT obligated to sign autographs or pose for selfies at the stage door. And I'm sure Jake Gyllenhaal couldn't care less about your hopes to see an "improvement" in his stage door behavior. His main concern is the performance he's giving on stage - which is as it should be.

You obviously would have been "disappointed" in Greta Garbo as well. She never signed autographs, and refused to answer fan mail. As she put it, "Who are all these people who write? I don't know them. They don't know me. What have we to write each other about? Why do they want my picture? I'm not their relative."

Bob Dylan probably said it best: "Just because you like my stuff doesn't mean I owe you anything."
