They're a talented pair. It's amazing their work hasn't every really clicked with the public. Not sure why that is. My Favorite Year is a very flawed work but it's been rewritten for the reading at the York, so let's hope it's an improvement. The original production was uninspired but I then saw a staged reading of it downtown that was actually pretty good. Once On This Island has a beautiful score. Ragtime will probably get another first-rate production one day in New York and finally find its audience.
