MAJOR BARBARA last night

Posted by: NeoAdamite 01:14 pm EST 11/16/14

I forgot how great this play is, and the Pearl reminded me.

I could pick all kinds of nits, but director David Staller has done very good work here, Dan Daily as Andrew Undershaft really finds the music in the part, and almost none of my usual complaints about The Pearl's production values are in evidence.

My only directorial issue is that the visit to Undershaft's factory is a little too close to something out of Atlas Shrugged. I can see how tempting this is, but I don't think he's really a "greed is good" type.
