Saturday 15th November - Friday 21st November 1989 may have seen the fall of Communism in Europe but in Cuba, Castro's regime remained unshaken. Radio 4's new detective series begins on New Year's Day, 1989 in Havana, when Lieutenant Mario Conde wakes up to a mystery. The Havana Quartet continues over the next three weeks, with Zubin Varla as the detective. And Radio 3 features classic Irish playwright Sean O'Casey with a new production of Juno and the Paycock on Sunday. During the Irish Civil War, the Boyle family come into money unexpectedly and it seems they may escape their Dublin tenement at last. Stanley Townsend and Sorcha Cusack star.
