Exactly. Let people react the way they react. I'll take any genuine reaction over somebody policing themselves lest they react the "wrong" way.

I started crying during On The Town during "New York, New York" (and again during the "chorale" version of "Lonely Town" and again during "Some Other Time"). I'm sure I was the only one in the audience crying at that particular moment, but I don't care. When emotions hit me in the theater, I always have found it best to get 'em off my chest instead of letting them rest unexpressed (pace Reno Sweeney).
