BROADWAY'S REIGNING TONY AWARD®-WINNING BEST MUSICAL "A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER" CELEBRATES ITS ONE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY AND ITS 3,336th D'YSQUITH FAMILY DEATH MONDAY, NOVEMBER 17 Today marks the one-year anniversary of the Tony Award®-winning Best Musical, A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, bringing the grand total number of the times Jefferson Mays, who plays all eight doomed members of the D’Ysquith family, has died on stage in the hit musical comedy to a staggering and historic 3,336 (and counting). This occasion was celebrated by the company in advance, on Thursday, November 13, with a special confetti-soaked curtain call, and a private party at The Palm following the performance. (At the celebration, The Palm unveiled a portrait of co-stars Jefferson Mays and Bryce Pinkham, just a few weeks after Sardi’s Restaurant unveiled its own portraits of the leading men.) The company of A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder has chosen to mark the occasion by paying respect to all of the beloved, murdered characters on Broadway with a special In Memoriam video tribute. A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder officially opened at the Walter Kerr Theatre (219 W. 48th Street) to overwhelmingly rapturous reviews on Sunday, November 17, following critically acclaimed, smash-hit runs at The Hartford Stage and San Diego’s Old Globe Theatre. It has gone on to become the most nominated and honored production of the 2013-14 Broadway season, winning the Tony, the Drama Desk, the Drama League, and the Outer Critics Circle awards for Best Musical.
