i was confused. i thought this was the public sale but saw no option for anything other than amx presale. i looked but couldn't find a ticket i liked for less than 300 bucks and i'm not going to pay that. not to see her in the garden. the beacon, maybe. who am i kidding? the beacon, yes.

i hope you're right about this not being the public sale - which makes sense. i thought perhaps i had logged on too late and the only seats left were those reserved for amx but in retrospect they'd have released those. also, usually during the pre-sale they'll show the date of the public sale but there wasn't any info for this show. regardless, i hope there is another date.

i'm glad you got good seats. i rarely use amx unless it's preferred seating and then only for streisand. nobody else is going to get those kinds of bucks out of me.

i've had better luck signing on as soon as tickets go on sale for the public. years ago when they first started having amx presales i worked somewhere where i could see what they had reserved. there would be a handful of decent seats but the bulk were pretty lousy. recently from what i could tell all the regular presale seats aren't great and amx reserves the really good ones for the preferred seating option.

Isn't if interesting. She's probably the single best live performer I've ever seen, including The Beatles and Streisand, and I've been paying to see her since the late 70s. But I don't have the money to fork over to see her in a big Arena. I'm sure she'll fill it, in both senses of the word. Sometimes, we can just stay home, put on our CDs, and hold onto our memories. I did enjoy here as Sue Mengers last year, for $87 in the rear mezz.

Went to the diagram of the Garden and few seats are in $100 range. Even the 200's are $350!

not necessarily. i've seen amx presale for premium price go on sale for regular price. also, there are a fair number of seats left. this means the presale not only didn't go gangbusters it didn't even sell out. they have different size blocks of pre-sale seats. if they put a large block on sale this doesn't look good. if they put a small block on sale - the promoter is sweating bullets by now.

also, note the poster who got an, i think, 80-something dollar seat in a section now selling for much more. you could conceivably buy a $300 seat today next to someone who pays $100 the day of the general sale. ticket buying is A LOT more complicated than it used to be.

a fair number of obsessive (i mean that in a good way) fans will take advantage of the pre-sale because it would make sense those would be the best seats. and a few of the best seats do go on sale, especially the crazy overpriced front row kind of seats. notice there are a fair number of even those seats left.

so one or maybe a couple of things are happening. either a fair number of the obsessive fans don't have (unlikely) or are choosing not to use amx - more likely since i think most of us have figured out the pre-sale is usually counterproductive.

i get much better seats signing on right when the public sale begins. i learned this the hard way and suspect others have, too.

OR this isn't going to sell the way they think it will.

i doubt i'm the only one less than thrilled at the idea of being her in an arena the size of the garden. it will sell out anyway. the scalpers will see to that but if you want to get the best seats at the cheapest prices? do what i will if i can't get decent seats for the general sale. go to the garden that night. right before the show starts you'll see scalpers unloading tickets for pennies on the dollar. just make sure you have a diagram of the seating chart for the garden in either your head or your hand.

this could be one the scalpers end up eating big time - especially out in the real world if they try charging these prices. if they have a hard time selling at these prices in new york, that really doesn't look good for everywhere else.
