The book is oddly written. It sort of makes it sound like he lost a role to Danner but maybe he's misremembering.

Harris sort of idolized Danner as a kid and then writes of being so intimidated by him and losing a role to him. The years don't really seem to add up. Danner seems to have stopped working before Harris really started.
