That production at the Pearl is gorgeous. There are some stage images I don't think I'll ever want to forget. The end of the first act is hauntingly beautiful. The whole approach to the play is unlike any other version of the play I've seen, meaning this one is actually compelling and entertaining. Excellent cast. Fantastic set. The play speeds by. The idea of having six of the actors play more than one role is inspired. For the first time the play not only made sense, It caused discussion. Groups of people were standing around the theatre after it was over debating about issues in the play. It was exciting. I'm going back. There are discount codes for half-price tickets. The play has always seemed incomplete. The notes from the director help explain why, and how he has tried to clarify the issues raised. He does. Big time.
