| ON A STEEL HORSE IT RIDES…INTO BROADWAY HISTORY THE BEST-REVIEWED MOST-NOMINATED LONGEST-RUNNING [hair band] MUSICAL OF ALL TIME ROCK OF AGES ROCK OF AGES TO PLAY FINAL PERFORMANCE ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 18, 2015 AFTER SIX TRIUMPHANT YEARS AS BROADWAY’S BEST PARTY 22 PREVIEWS AND 2,328 PERFORMANCES FIVE TONY AWARD NOMINATIONS 1.5 MILLION FACES MELTED SOLIDIFYING ITS SPOT AS THE 27TH LONGEST RUNNING SHOW IN BROADWAY HISTORY The producers of the five-time Tony Award-nominated ROCK OF AGES announced today that the production will play its final performance on Sunday, January 18, 2015 after 22 preview and 2,328 Broadway performances, solidifying its spot as the 27th longest running show in Broadway history. “It’s hard to believe that a decade has passed since our 45-minute showcase at King King, a little dive bar on Hollywood Boulevard. That was the night Rock of Ages came to life, and what this incredible team has achieved since is nothing short of triumphant,” said producer Matthew Weaver. “We landed Off-Broadway in the midst of the financial meltdown and yet, against all odds – thanks to the sheer determination, grit, naivety and enthusiasm of our dream team of creatives, actors and producers – opened on Broadway in the spring of 2009 to an overwhelming embrace from critics and audiences alike. To have that lead to the launch of over a dozen productions worldwide has been a glorious dream come true.” “As a team we’ve experienced the greatest – and in many ways, unexpected – joys of having a hit show and being a part of the Broadway community,” added producer Jonathan Linden. “From performing at The Tony Awards, to the Super Bowl, and Times Square on New Year’s Eve, this has been the ride of a lifetime for the entire Rock of Ages family and I am so proud of what we’ve all accomplished. And on the road to our final performance, I'm thrilled our cast is one of the finest we've ever had - with seven members of the original Broadway company teamed up with some of the brightest, new talent Broadway has ever seen.” ROCK OF AGES had its world premiere in January 2006 at The Vanguard Hollywood nightclub in Los Angeles, where it played a six-week engagement before opening a limited run at The Flamingo in Las Vegas in May 2006. The musical made its New York debut in October 2008 at Off-Broadway’s New World Stages, playing 110 performances before transferring to Broadway and opening to widespread critical acclaim at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on Tuesday, April 7, 2009. The musical moved to its current home, The Helen Hayes Theatre, on March 24, 2011. In 2012, ROCK OF AGES recouped its capitalization of $7.25 million, in addition to all costs incurred during the show’s move from the Brooks Atkinson Theatre to the Helen Hayes Theatre. Now in its sixth year, the smash hit musical has grossed over $125 million on Broadway alone, where it has been seen by nearly 1.5 million people, and broken the Box Office Record at the Helen Hayes Theatre ten times. In addition to being a bona fide hit on Broadway, ROCK OF AGES is currently rocking the Las Vegas Strip at The Venetian Resort; the open seas on Norwegian’s cruise ship The Breakaway; and the open road on its third U.S. National Tour and first U.K. National Tour. The show was also a runaway success in Toronto, Australia, and London’s West End, and has licensed productions in several additional countries, including Mexico, Sweden, Korea, Japan and The Philippines. In 2012, ROCK OF AGES hit the silver screen as a major motion picture starring Tom Cruise. “Really, ‘Rock of Ages’ should suck. Yet, somewhere between the Styx dance break and the Twisted Sister reprise, this jukebox tuner transcends its hoary parts to become a legitimate artistic achievement.” – VARIETY “The Broadway equivalent of a ride on a mechanical bull. Is there a Tony Award for Badassery? – THE NEW YORKER “The most remarkable Broadway experience I’ve ever had!” – THE VILLAGE VOICE “You want hair? Big hair? Hair you wouldn’t want to meet in a dark alley? The champ is unquestionably “Rock of Ages,” a seriously silly, absurdly enjoyable arena-rock musical that thrashed open on Tuesday night in front of a bobbing sea of cigarette lighters waved aloft.” – THE NEW YORK TIMES ‘‘Even doubters will be wiping tears from their Wayfarers. Rock of Ages is the power-ballad decade in all its glory, tricked out with big perms, bigger dreams, and the kind of operatic ecstasy you read about only in bathroom stalls.’’ – ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY The music that ignited a generation is heating up Broadway in the five-time Tony Award-nominated musical ROCK OF AGES. The hilarious, tongue-in-cheek love story erupts into Broadway’s Best Party, all to the sounds of such feel-good, sing-out-loud songs as “I Wanna Know What Love Is”, “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” “Wanted Dead Or Alive,” “Here I Go Again”, “Don’t Stop Believin” and more. ROCK OF AGES currently stars a “Supergroup” of performers including Tony Award-nominated original star Constantine Maroulis as “Drew”, Lauren Zakrin as “Sherrie,” YouTube sensation Chester See as “Stacee Jaxx” through January 4, Genson Blimline as “Lonny,” Original Broadway cast member Adam Dannheisser as “Dennis,” Big Brother star Frankie J. Grande as “Franz,” Original Toronto cast member Josephine Rose Roberts as “Regina,” Original Broadway cast member Paul Schoeffler as “Hertz,” and Original National Tour cast member Teresa Stanley as “Justice.” Rounding out the cast are Tessa Alves, Cristy Candler, Lisa Finegold, Alyssa Herrera, Tony LePage, Michael Minarik, Josh Sassanella and Andre Ward. ROCK OF AGES is produced on Broadway and worldwide by Matthew Weaver, Michael Cohl and Jonathan Linden/S2BN Entertainment with Carl Levin, Jeff Davis, Barry Habib, Scott Prisand, Reagan Silber, Relativity Media, Janet Billig Rich and Hillary Weaver. | "Dames" is ready to go once they get a theater. But, they have their eyes on a larger space than the Hayes. (Though I would agree that this would seem to be an ideal venue.) | |

| longacre, lyceum and belasco are the only ones that might be open in the spring depending on whether the current shows close. I've been wondering where American Psycho wants to go. I think that is the only other show that might be looking for mid-size house like Dames. Gigi and Little Dancer would probably want a big musical house. | |

| Isn't American Psycho coming in the fall? I'm guessing the Belasco and the Lyceum will keep their current tenants through the spring. It seems like a new Hedwig has been hinted at and Disgraced seems like it could be a contender for the Best play Tony, simply because there hasn't been that much in the way of competition. Plus, it seems to be doing pretty well at the BO. If the Simon and/or Rodgers open, perhaps Gigi or Little Dancer will end up at one of those. | |

| i assumed it was heading for broadway opening this spring. That assumtion could be incorrect. I agree that Disgraced probably will extend if it keeps the grosses up. Considering that there probably are a lot of LCT member tickets in the mix of the grosses now, it is doing very well. I don't know about Hedwig or further extensions of You Can't. | |
