do they plan on keeping it vacant?

i don't understand why people would be out of work. Second Stage would have to staff the theater. And no "next show"---if second stage isn't ready to put a show in there, they could rent it out like Roundabout does for the Sondheim.

New owners (especially not for profit), typically clean house and bring in their own staff, that's the way it goes.

Plus I heard they want to renovate, which could keep the theatre dark for 6 months to a year anyway.

So goodbye to the old, and hello to the new.

It's a new generation........

so all theaters go through that process.

As for staff, this is an additional facility, not replacing existing Second Stage facility, so the current SS staff can't do both. SS will have to hire more staff when shows are running in both theaters.

It could use some renovation. Granted, I haven't been there since Xanadu, so

I have no idea what it looks like now, but it needed some sprucing up even then, IMO.

Comfortable seating would be nice; it'll be the only Second Stage venue that has that.

The entire auditorium was renovated, incl. new seats, prior to NEXT FALL opening st the Hayes, which was at least 2 shows before ROA moved in...

for Xanadu after Cheyenne Jackson replaced the injured James Carpinello and it was looking pretty well-worn, IMO. I totally missed that renovation back then.

Thanks.

I am however guessing the seats will need some cleaning up after 5 years of drink spillage...
