Back when Rock of Ages was first announced to be transferred to Broadway I (like others) was very skeptical. At the time there was a poster here who made the claim that it would be a complete sell-out for months and end up a huge hit. I disagreed and offered a gentleman's bet that if he was accurate in his prediction I would make a donation to BC/EFA. While I think based on the initial terms I was covered, I must now recognize the fact that it was a bigger success than I anticipated. Therefore, I am making good on the bet and making the donation this afternoon. I never saw the show, but I'm glad many people enjoyed it. And hopefully it helped get a new audience into the theater.

it didn't sell out that year of transfer 2011

the show recouped in 2 years after it opened and then transferred. I assume it recouped the transfer costs over the last 3 years. It is a hit. BUt that fact that it didn't sell out a 600 seat house the transfer year probably gets you off gets you off the hook. its nice of you to make a donation anyway.
