Actually the Hughes part came afterwards as I reread the dialogue. I truly loved the play with its themes of abandonment and the unattainable. I think it is simply one of those works where you bring your life to the show and then let the words do their magic. It works for some and leaves others cold, but that is always the risk you take with this kind of material.
