NEW - BY THE WATER - Talkin' Broadway's Review

Posted by: T.B._Admin. 07:30 pm EST 11/18/14

Matthew Murray takes a look at By the Water:

Hurricanes? Bah, they're nothing. If you want to see real destructive force — the kind that will rip homes, neighborhoods, even whole municipalities apart at the seams — you have to turn to a family. For example, the one in Sharyn Rothstein's play By the Water, which just opened at Manhattan Theatre Club Stage II. This sensitive, perceptive drama may be set on Staten Island in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy in 2012, but true obliteration can and will only come once the Murphy clan tries to restore its house and discovers a whole lot more is in need of serious repair. . . .
